While in recuperation from my health problems, I have finally begun to compile an organisation file of the Hammond manuscripts. (Dorset 1905-1908). I have all singers entered alphabetically with repertoires typed and song notes from Hammond, Lucy Broadwood and Anne Gilchrist with of course Frank Purslow entered against each singer. The view is to produce a website in the same vein as David Sutcliffe's 'Cecil Sharps People' I intend to have MP3 files for every song collected, and bios for all 186 singers and photos if I can find them. If this fires your interest I am looking for someone to undertake some genealogical research. Not all of it of course and only what ever you wish when ever you wish. If I don't make it to the end of the project Cohen B.K. has agreed to take over. Just thought I would ask. PM me if you are interested.

Nick, I have been looking for a while at the possibility of a database/website of English traditional singers, with hopefully some of their life stories. I would be very interested in collaborating

Liz is going to help but take you up on your kind offer if there is anything you can help with. Meanwhile have you seen the website Cecil Sharps People. Give it a squint.

Liz is sharp. Having her work with you is a really good start to your project. (And you should hear her sing!)

Didn't Bonnie Sartin mention that one of his forbearers contributed to the Hammond collection?
