Subject: Lyr req: Gasoline Man From: GUEST,Guest Date: 05 Jun 11 - 09:43 AM I learned this song in kindergarten in 1954. I also have no idea where it originated. I am also looking for another song.
There's not a window, nor a door, nor any roof, nor any floor. There's nothing but a big round can with a seat on the front for the gasoline man. |

Subject: RE: Lyr req: Gasoline Man From: cnd Date: 29 Dec 24 - 02:52 PM I found a few editions of the song in near-identical versions in a few books from the mid-1950s to 60s - The Ashburian (1956) (Ashbury College, Toronto, Canada) - "Gasoline Truck" attributed to Anthony Lovink, originally from Holland - The Ginn Basic Readers (revised 1961) - "Gasoline Truck" attributed to Marjorie T. Hardwick - The Instructor, Vol. 70 No. 5 (Jan. 1961) - "Gas Truck" (no attribution) |
Subject: RE: Lyr req: Gasoline Man From: GUEST Date: 06 Jan 25 - 09:08 AM Who is the original recording artist of the song "ELECTRIFIED DONKEY"? I think it was Johnny Horton. Check this thread: https://mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=3060&messages=2 Joe Offer, Mudcat Music Editor |
