I had never heard of him- I'm not into heavy metal- but when I heard a video of him singing Sound of Silence, I was blown away. What a voice. And for the first time I understand the message of that song. If you haven't heard him, you've missed a treat.

This particular video is not my favorite- this one is a bit over the top. The first one I saw is gentler, more reflective, so that the despairing energy of the last verse is shocking and galvanizing.

Either way I like it. And I also liked the interviews I heard him in. I don't suppose that I would like heavy metal but I have never really listened to it. This man, however, is impressive.

I take it back- just now I now listened to the two pastors hearing it for the first time and it was definitely the first version I heard. So maybe they are the same recording.

Incidentally, the 'pastors' were as blown away as I.
