My dear friend Helen, wife of Dave Howard of the Oldham Tinkers died early last Wednesday after having been taken to hospital with a sudden unexpected illness. We shall miss her voice, repertoire and her humerous MC capabilities.
She and Dave have so many friends in and outside the folk world and she leaves a big gap.

Iam so sad to hear this, I knew Helen for many years and got to know her better when she moved to Ireland
.I will miss her, condolences to Dave and Family

Sorry to hear this although it must be getting on for forty years since our paths last crossed.

I doubt that Dave will remember this but I’m the reason he ended up working with the Tinkers. It’s a long story so I won’t bore people with it.
