I suspect that the armed and masked supposed ICE agents are actually hired guns from private security companies like BCI, just like the guards who are now in charge of harassing customers at our Social Security Offices. One of them claimed to be a Federal agent but she was not. Perhaps they were told they were deputized Federal agents but the uniforms and insignia said differently. I have never seen Federal agents draw their gun with fingers on the trigger against a person taking a cell phone picture. That is something an amateur on a power trip would do. Goons with guns doing beatings and arrests are getting the attention of California citizens. Why else would they be out of uniform on active duty.

Back in the tiny Tea Party days, there was a Congressman Army. At 3 AM, before the morning vote on a Big Pharma bill, he changed the language and intent of the proposed law by inserting a new paragraph in the official House bill. The 'new' bill was passed without noticing the change.

The same thing could happen to the Big Trump bill. If the Senate is unaware and they refer to prior published versions OR if they are aware and let the nefarious change stand, the big beautiful bill could turn into an enabling act that could go as far as making dictatorship permanent.

And SRS, I am crossing all my fingers and toes that Trump is impeached and that it succeeds this time. I have been watching Stephen Colbert every day this week and his interview with Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth was very inspiring. Based on that interview I think she knows what she wants and she knows how to get it. I'm hoping she inspires a lot of other politicians to start fighting back.

I recall a few years back being abused by so many of the folk here when I pointed out the conduct of the (mainly) Pakistani Rape gangs whose victims ran into thousands (literally).

Imagine that Al Gore had won his election. There may have been more done about climate change. Now imagine that Trump will increase debt until there is less spending, more unemployment, and bondholders begin to sell their T-bills. But that is exactly where we are without imagination. Trump is the King of bankruptcies. Could the US run out of money? You bet your ass it could.

The Fed director Powell is near the end of his term. If a Trump hack is installed there will be no confidence and the shit will destroy the fan.
