Subject: BS: Exhausting dreams From: Donuel Date: 15 Apr 25 - 10:04 AM Worse than an earworm are long dreams about trying to find a misplaced car or a lost child at the fair. They seem to have staying power other dreams don't have. |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: Stilly River Sage Date: 15 Apr 25 - 10:45 AM Waking nightmares are the problem here. Getting to sleep. Do you remember your dreams? |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: Ebbie Date: 15 Apr 25 - 02:22 PM I used to have those dreams- I remember one in particular. I suddenly remembered that not only had I not fed the baby or changed her diapers but I couldn't remember where I'd left her.... |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: Donuel Date: 15 Apr 25 - 04:45 PM I'm pretty sure we all dream but people who are in a deeper than beta brain wave sleep right before waking may be less likely to remember dreams. It feels like alpha wave dreaming is remembered in complete detail. Time feels stretched out like space inside the Tardis. |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: Dave the Gnome Date: 15 Apr 25 - 05:56 PM A recurring theme in my dreams is trying to find my way somewhere and being unable to do so. It is very frustrating. When I suffered from sleep apnea I did not remember my dreams at all but now that has been cured I have some very weird ones! |

Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: BobL Date: 16 Apr 25 - 03:07 AM My recurring dream was being at work somewhere, not knowing what I was actually supposed to do. I retired 15 years ago... |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: Fred Date: 16 Apr 25 - 05:43 AM A pretty girl fancies you but her last bus is about to leave and she can't hang around...you know, frustration dreams. I get a lot of them! Fred |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: gillymor Date: 16 Apr 25 - 06:45 AM That's the one recurring dream I still have these days, BobL and it seems to last all night. I used to have the looking for my car dreams that started after a night of excess in a DC bar, after weaving though the hilly streets of Rich Park we finally gave up and crashed on someone's front lawn. |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: MaJoC the Filk Date: 16 Apr 25 - 09:39 AM One phenomenon I've noticed: dreams on a repeat loop. It's almost as if my inner Sigmund is playing jigsaw-puzzles with the memes, trying to get them to fit together properly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: Donuel Date: 16 Apr 25 - 10:32 AM Neurological feedback loops are within our control. It just doesn't feel like it. Once you are aware of the annoying or addictive loop you can counter it with your desired feedback loop that may be more positive or constructive. Its often easier said than done. |
Subject: RE: BS: Exhausting dreams From: keberoxu Date: 17 Apr 25 - 06:34 PM A recurring theme in my dreams is snow. It always seems to recur/occur in dreams about my family of origin. And yes, they are emotionally cold. I had one of those just last night. |
