Subject: All right: who of us are dead? From: GUEST Date: 16 Apr 25 - 02:45 AM I sang from about 1970. I've only just learned that Royston Wood died in 1990. That's thirty-five years ago. I know Carthy's still going (but it's about time he gave up—like me). Is Nic still around? All those old-timers? Mudcat ought to have a link so we can celebrate the going of all these magic people. Swarb and the like. Maddy's still going? Stefan |

Subject: RE: All right: who of us are dead? Delayed obits. From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 22 Apr 25 - 10:54 PM It is good to see that Miles of Dick are still being laid in the sand. However, I am quite sure "Good Soldier Shwank" and "Captain Bird's Eye" met an untimely end in the internet battles of 2000. Sincerely, Gargoyle Mr. Miles it is truly GOOD to hear you alive and kicking up and still kicking up the sand. |
Subject: RE: All right: who of us are dead? Delayed obits. From: The Sandman Date: 23 Apr 25 - 03:01 AM GARGOYLE Try being positive the majority of your posts are negative. a quote from bertrand russell The world is vast and our own powers are limited. If all our happiness is bound up entirely in our personal circumstances it is difficult not to demand of life more than it has to give. And to demand too much is the surest way of getting even less than is possible. The man* who can forget his worries by means of a genuine interest in, say, the Council of Trent, or the life history of stars, will find that, when he returns from his excursion into the impersonal world, he has acquired a poise and calm which enable him to deal with his worries in the best way, and he will in the meantime have experienced a genuine even if temporary happiness. |
