Get out your guitars and notepaper, we're needing some songs for the American Revolution 2.0.

I guess my favorite song of the Vietnam era was "The Times They Are a-Changin'." But I'll probably remember a different favorite tomorrow.

Here's a title for some enterprising songwriter, "I ain't Going to Greenland".

A couple of anti-war songs that have been written since the VN war-

Levellers - The Recruiting Sergeant

Karan Casey-The King's Shilling

The King’s Shilling; Margie Sinclair sang Ian Sinclair’s song The King’s Shilling in 1979 on their group Mirk’s album Moddan’s Bower. Thanks to Mainly Norfolk.

I'm not sure that folk music today has the audience to launch a major protest song. But one could come from a music scene more popular with younger people, Radio 1, perhaps, or the summer music festivals.

There are certainly enough problems both locally and globally that demand attention.

I wasn't suggesting that Karan Casey wrote The King's Shilling.

Here's Marc Nerenberg singing "Big Lies, Butterflies, & Brutal Tyrants" which is a protest song tuned to the current sichiation.

Well done Marc. Still hanging out at the "Yellow Door" I see.
