Just reported on fb that Barry from Featherstone, South Yorkshire and of Whitby folk week fame has passed on

Barry was a singer and a dance caller and worked tirelessly for Whitby folk week ~ he also coordinated gigs for the pro and semi pro bands he rated

RIP Barry and condolences to friends, family and all who knew him

Sad news.Barry was great fun and very professional. He called dances for the Foolish Virgins many times when we were active. It's been over twenty years since I last worked with him, but I have fond memories and he will be missed in the world.
