You're right, Stilly, though I *think* I got the information by following a lead down the rabbit hole in Wikipedia the other month. It's not volume you need to create great static pressure, just height and gravity; from memory, that trick was used in mining in antiquity.

I've been looking around YouTube this morning for an old lecture by an old guy that I'm sure gnu originally shared with us years ago. To do with how gravity fed water can create great pressure, but it wasn't a lecture about hydroelectric dams. It was on a much smaller scale.

So far all our deep space probes and Mars rovers have used radioisotope electric generators. The next generation of electric generators will be these toroidal plasma electric generators, which are, candidly, more reverse-engineered technology than not.

I'm lucky to just spell toroidal but the temps are not like those of fusion. Plasma is hot but not impossibly hot in such small amounts.

I trekked every square millimeter of it. I couldn’t go above 15,000 feet of elevation however. Overall it was a good trip, much of it spent under the Dark Skies of the NP.

Black hole technology makes for interesting sci-fi grist but I favor ultra high voltage engines that deal with plasma electrodynamics in a toroidal fashion. Tesla and dozens of inventors would agree that ultimate electric power generation has remarkable side benefits. The powers that be on Earth have dealt with those inventors with extreme prejudice.

Beggars can't be choosers - someone interested enough in the subject matter (wide / deep / shallow / profane) of these threads to keep them going is rare these days. Amos and Little Hawk/Chongo were big players back in the day. There are quite a few notables still around but who probably never drop in any more.

You can see fragments of the original MOAB but you find them by searching on the contributor - backtrack to their past posts and open any of them they shared on MOAB. It's an archaeological process these days.
