I was very sad indeed go read Derek Schofield's notification of the passing of photographer Brian Shuel, in the 'Folkprint' Facebook group:

I never had the good fortune to meet Brian, but have long been an admirer of his splendid work as a chronicler of the folk customs and folk music of these Isles. Deepest condolences to all who knew him, and also to those who know and love his work.

Do you have a favourite photograph of Brian's? Even more precious, do you have a memory of him that you'd like to share?

I should mention my own favourite work of Brian's - his invaluable 1985 tome 'The National Trust Guide to Traditional Customs of Britain'*; one of the four or five most important/invaluable volumes on this topic,

Sad to hear this. Topic Records used a number of his photographs for LP and CD covers. I always admired his work, which I found inspirational.
