Seems like this needs to be said every few months, after a new crop of sprouts come along.

The Mudcat is non-profit. All of the work Max, Bert & the elves put into it is volunteer. All of the work Dick and Susan put into the DigiTrad Folksong database is volunteer and it is also a non-profit. To help support them:

any CD's you are looking for can most likely be ordered right here, at the Mudcat, either through the

Mudcat Record Shop which you can also access at the Shop & Auction Link up top on the menu bar;

at Dick Greenhaus' Camsco Music;

or through Sandy & Caroline Paton's Folk Legacy Records.

In addition, if you go to the Shop & Auction link or on the main page, you will see the Mudcat logo, the fish jumping out of a banjo and the words "help support the Mudcat". Click on it and you can shop 'til ya drop at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Green Clothing (all organic, yeah!), Spree, CDNow, and a few others, as well as purchase Mudcat T-shirts.

A portion of anything you buy, through those links will go to the Mudcat, helping to defray the mucho dinero it costs to keep it up and running and all of us happy.**BG**

Yeah kat, thanks....rub it in.

Seriously....You do need to go THROUGH THE LINKS or the sale will not be credited to Mudcat.

Thanks,

Spaw

You might need the links with the big boys, but a simple reminder to us - "This is a Mudcat order" - in the comment line on the order blank of our web page will work just as well. I'll bet the same thing would work with Greenhaus, too. But don't try it with Amazon; they're a wee bit bigger than we are. Use the link to reach them, for sure!

Does this work for Mudcat even if you click through to amazon.co.uk? (Which is provided as a link on the amazon.com page.)

I think as long as you enter Amazon thru the Jumping Catfish above, its still the same.

I have just joined the mudcate cafe and I am wondering is this a proper place to announce a simulcast of a concert? My wife and I play celtic and folk music and tour the western US doing school shows and Concerts and we have a concert in our hometown that will be simulcast on the web. We play Hammer Dulcimer Mtn Dulcimer, Irish Bouzouki guitar etc...and Vocals. This is a very interesting site! Ken

Hey! Ken, glad to see you made it here. Guess you got my email, huh? Please do tell us about your simulcast; there are several people here whom I've told about your music who would be interested I know. Start a separate thread for it or send me the details and I will do it for you. It was great to talk to Kim the other night. Don't be a stranger,okay?

Sounds good to me Ken....I'd start a separate thread with Simulcast in the title. Looking forward to having you here. We've had some good discussions on school programs and kids, Hammered's and Apps, and the various problems and rewards of webcasts. Check some old threads for some fun reading and Welcome to Mudcat! (To search, enter a keyword like dulcimer or school or a used name in the search box on the main page...If you need help, just ask)

I've used them all and even got obscure UK titles from Camsco that I'd not been able to source from UK, also often much quicker! Even though CDNow has a European warehouse some stuff is still sourced from US and UK Customs slap on duty and VAT which the UK post office then charge you for dealing with which can add considerably to the total package. I've also never managed to actually get anything from Tower Records (UK).Although their inventory often lists things that don't appear elsewhere, after months they are always "unobtainable" which suggests they don't clean up their database when things go out of print (I've tried them with jazz, pop, blues and folk orders). Camsco and Folk Legacy deliver the excellent personal service we would expect from Wally (and now Dick) and Sandy.
I'm clearing my Santa wants list now of the things I asked for and didn't get, so the Mudcat should get some spin-off cash soon!
As my local shopping centre only has the mass market chain shops with poor jazz, blues & folk stock these online sites are a boon.
Now I have to order another CD rack!
