Req: This Little Light of Mine-Prairie Home Compan

I apologize to Mudcaters. I was trying to get lyrics to "This Little Light of Mine." Then something happened and it got posted several times but with no message. Sorry! My dilemma, I was listening to The Prairie Home Companion and they closed with this song. Like many, they used verses that I had not heard before but liked. I tried the Mudcat database and they had verses I had never heard before either but didn't fit the tune as I know it. I checked with the Folksinger's Wordbook and they had the same verses as Mudcat. All the choruses were the same however. The verses I know are: All around the room;' All over the whole wide world; (from the Prairie Home Companion) Don't let Satin whoop it up. What is the explanation for what happened to my former posts? Are there other verses to this song? Thanks

Hi BFP...I hope you did get the messages on the other threads and I'm glad you've checked the DT. Sorry I personally don't have any additional info, but others probebly will.

The multiple postings more than likely occured from hitting the sumit more than once before the screen refreshed, but I don't know for sure. This one worked for you!!! Glad to have you at the 'Cat.

There's a website for A Prairie Home Companion. I was planning on looking for the song, since I seem to remember there was a way to search for sound files, but the page seems to take forever to load.

This should be in the Mudcat KLinks surely? I was going to put it in now, but I couldn't decide what was the right category. Probably should be a category for radio shows, but I thought I'd leave it for the time being.

The link Jeri gave you will eventually get you a Real Audio file of the PHC program for January 22, 2000. It takes a week or two for them to archive it. When it does come up, you will be able to go right to the end and listen to "This Little Light of Mine." It is pretty easy to repeat the song over and over until you get the words. I used it about 6 months ago to get a song and it worked very well. If you do not have Real Audio, let us know and someone will do the work for you.
