The orange floating turd has decided to block the opening of a US/Canada bridge from Michigan to Ontario. He frequently circles back around to things he supported before, but now that he ignores the emoluments clause he can hold everything big hostage until Trumpgeld lands in his pockets. From that CBC article:

Trump wrote: "The Canadian Government expects me, as President of the United States, to PERMIT them to just 'take advantage of America!'"

"I will not allow this bridge to open until the United States is fully compensated for everything we have given them," he added.

He also blamed former President Barack Obama for allowing construction to begin without the use of any US steel.

But Mayor Drew Dilkens of Windsor, Ontario, on the Canadian side of the bridge, told the CBC that this accusation is wrong.

"It's just insane," he said. "I really can't believe what I'm reading."

The Moroun family - the American owners of the neighbouring Ambassador Bridge that also connects Detroit to Canada - appealed to Trump during his first term to stop construction of the new bridge, arguing that it infringed on their exclusive ability to collect tolls.

In response, Trump and then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a joint statement saying the bridge was a "vital economic link" between the countries.

My ears perked up this morning to an NPR story that it would connect two major Canadian highways with this bridge (including the 401, that is on occasion referred to as a hellish drive by Mudcatter Charmion). I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop - to see if someone offers to name it after him to get it up and running.

The Kennedy Memorial performing arts center looks across the river at Arlington National Cemetery, where Kennedy is buried with the eternal flame, and where the fallen from the Civil War through today are buried.

Now, the landlord and chief will dismantle the Kennedy Memorial for years to come. When and if it returns, I'm sure the name change will reflect the non-serving landlord and minimize mention of the PT 109 captain. The landlord wants two more name changes in NYC of a major tunnel and airport. I would not want a restroom named after the Toddler of all time.

When I arrive, I panic for a second that I have the time wrong. There are no Melania posters anywhere and the screening is tucked into the back bottom corner of the large movie theatre, like the weird leftover table at a wedding.

Eventually, just eight people arrive. The cinema has a capacity of about 150 people. There’s a couple, an elderly lady, a few middle-aged men and me. We all sit in the back for some reason.

I wonder if the terrible showing is because it’s a weird time of day to watch a movie. But of the five evening screenings of Melania taking place on its opening day at cinemas across Sydney, none have sold more than 16 tickets. One has sold just six.
