I know how angry Americans can become. I interviewed the residents and homeowners of Love Canal, which was previously a toxic waste dump.
I personally saw glass pits containing nuclear waste 50 feet from the swings at an elementary playground. I have seen an extreme waste dump a mile from Niagara Falls that was more than a half mile deep. Avoiding cancer is a real crapshoot in this country. Americans are more mobilized and angry about affordability than life-stealing cancer.

It was too easy to blame poorer immigrants for the lost opportunities.

For argument's sake, let's imagine that the Republicans win the mid-terms (and that pigs might fly) and then let's say that half the US voting population accepted the cash payout and then they are charged under Code 597. Then let's say half of those people decide to take the punishment, e.g. the prison sentence and the other half decide to take it to court and all of the US Federal courts would be dealing with those appeals. What would be happening in your country at that point? Not a lot. Everything would grind to a halt.

I'm hoping that this promise of tRump's is jumped on from a great height by anyone and everyone currently in power, in politics, in the courts, in the media, and via people-power in protests on the streets.
