Yes, but only in my head and my fingers - I'll trace this thread and try to write them out in a spare moment.

Good luck if anyone gets there first.

Nice to know someone else is still interested in old Sebastian/Loving Spoonful songs.

From 1967-1969 I saw The Lovin Spoonful maybe a half dozen times. I loved then, and still do, the meld of rock and roll (Rock a Billy) and jug band music. It always seemed a perfect mix. Every now and then Sebastian got too cute with his cosmic hippie style but more often then not he was just great. I can't think of a song of his or the Spoonfuls that ever completely failed while John was in the band. One song that I really liked was Butchie's Tune by Steve Boone which was a "B" side song on a 45. Joe Butler had a few good tunes as well as I recall. I don't remember that Zal Yanovsky ever wrote any but his lead guitar work was very sweet and tasteful indeed. After Zal left the band and Jerry Yester, from MFQ, joined the group they still played great in concert but their albums declined abit. "She's A Lady" from the Everything Playing album was a beautilful song and one of the highlites of that album, "Six O'Clock being another.

I think the chords to many of Sebastian's tunes are available in the Guitar Tab on Harmony Central.

As sung by John Sebastian on "John B. Sebastian" (1970)

She's a lady and I chanced to meet her in my scuffling days.
She's a lady, hypnotized me there that day.
I came to play in my usual way, hey.
Floating along with a whimsical twinkling in her strange green eyes,
"Linger with me," she said; yes, and, oh, the time did fly.

She's a lady; give her time for she's allowed to change her mind.
She's a lady; happy to say she once was mine.
Only some time I remember old times,
And when she says, "Can you guess? It's a dress you won't believe.
Would you come zip me up and button up my sleeve?"
Oh, lady, lady of ladies!
I remember days that felt like it was rainin' daisies.
