I am looking for the modern folk /singer-songwriter song that alludes to love being like an handful of sand, the tighter you squeeze, the less you can hold.

Heard it in the early 80's, on a folk traditions show or perhaps on Prairie Home Companion.

Not Donovan's song "Happiness Runs"? Can't remember the exact lyrics except that there are lots of references to sand, infinity, hands etc Callie
