I have some physical problems that have made playing difficult-- nothing as severe as a stroke, thank God, but I spent several years ready to begin playing seriously and then could not find an instrument that didn't hurt too much. I persisted and now am a songleader for people who thought they could neither sing nor tap their feet "properly". Me and my dried up little voice and my trusty upside down backwards strummed electric autoharp! There is always a way, and I swear when the time comes I will die whistling one last tune!!! Could be a Lullaby!

Would you pass on to Lorre that his song (heard just once on WFMT Chicago's Midnight Special) has been loved at workshops, cocerts, in cars, many other places, and that we need him to keep getting back to his music?

I would be pleased to e-correspond with him to encourage him to make music his own again, in whatever way he can. I'm sure he's permanently hard-wired for music and I'm eager to hear more of his work.

That's Lorre Wyatt. He has a recording that includes that song on Folk-Legacy - available as a cassette (C-88) - and we may even have a few of the vinyl LPs left (LP-88). Lorre also wrote "Somos el Barco" a fine song that has now been sung by a number of performers, including Pete Seeger and Jane Sapp. Check out our web site at Click here for FOLK-LEGACY. Lorre suffered a stroke a couple of years ago, and is just now beginning to perform again. Had to re-train his fingers to play the guitar, and reconnect his memory with a lot of lost song texts. We're proud of his successful struggle to come back from such a setback.

Looking for artist/discography/any other info on a song by a male singer-songwriter from mid to late 80's. I think I have the lyrics right:

Lots of others possible, but they have to fit at then end of the verse too with no cheating. I guess since it gets a bit precious after awhile there should be a verse about spam, also. But this song calms people down nicely and I would like to be able to cite the writer when I do it. Nice as a kids' song too, would be good in the classroom to settle em down. Sorry I can't post melodies yet.
