Check out the latest photos. If you don't have the site bookmarked, go to "Quick Links" at the top of the Discussion Forum page & click on "bbc's Mudcat Resources." Walking pneumonia wasn't enough, now I'm missing work w/ the flu. Nonetheless, can't resist getting a little web work done. If your country or U.S. state isn't represented yet on the Locator page, get in touch. BTW, when are our New Hampshire, U.S. folks going to check in? I know you're out there! I keep being amazed by the popularity of the site. We are over 6,000 visits now & don't have our 1st birthday till April. Neat!

Thanks Mbo! actually those photos are from several years ago; I am essentially the same, now, I guess: a few more grey hairs, though now my hair is redder than in the photo (thanks henna!) and quite a bit longer...down to the middle of my back now. and of course i have put on a few pounds; does this happen to everyone once they hit their mid-thirties? Those photos are of a vegetarian who ran five miles a day...

uh...my only contribution to this conversation (as it has evolved to this point) is to say, I think "cutie-pie" is a very sweet and endearing term...

and to say that I have not been called "cute" in many years; other kind compliments, yes, "cute," no...makes me nostalgic, actually, for my youth...(blush)

speaking of which, fine wine does grow finer with the years, and a young man's vigor and stamina are not necessarily more desirable than an older gentleman's, uh, experience and wisdom...however, both have their advantages, provided the individual involved is up to the task...

I have heard (on occassion now that I am older and grayer and have reached the status of "DAD") those of the younger female pursuasion comment on the hunk factor of guys pictures. Oh for the days that I was still in the comparison category. On the other hand as we age I like to think that we are like some people from families with old money. They don't dress fancy or flash their cash, but once you dig a little and get to know them you are surprised at the wealth you find.

Still, It sure would be nice to be called "cutie pie" now and again (by those of the right pursuasion).

Don't feel bad, Jim. Some young folks, like me, never get any compliments about their looks! Also, I was raised in a family where women outranked men 2:1, and I have come to appreciate the beauty of women of all ages, and it's many forms.

This brings back a memory of not so distant past, actually about a month ago I purchased a twelve pack of beer at the grocery store. As I was passing through the checkout line I jokingly asked the sweet young thing behind the register if she needed to see my ID. Her swift (and very cutting) reply was, 'No need, we don't give senior discounts here anyway!'

I have a friend who decided after years to try wearing contacts instyead of glasses. She had a pair for a two week trial period and during that time she went to a liquor store. The clerk there asked her for her ID, my friend, age of thirty, was so excited at being asked that she nearly dropped her purse. All doubts about purchasing the contacts were resolved.

I learned to drive in my 30's my wife still dines out on the time she answered the door and the driving instructor said he'd come to collect her father! And the time we went to visit a garden and I must have been mid-forties and was asked if I wanted senior citizen discount! And I still have my own hair (thinning and receding but still hanging on!)!

I get carded all the time. Mainly cuz in Massachusetts they claim they card anyone that looks under 30. I think this is dumb, since the drinking age is 21. Also, it being such a college town, there's lots of underage drinkers about...I dress kinda young, too, and wear my hair in that long, hippie, Ren Faire style associated with perpetual youth... But I also occasionally get carded buying a pack of clove cigarettes or something... it's a pain, but I suppose the time to complain will be when I stop getting carded... what burns me more than anything is when a clerk in a store or whatever calls me "ma'am" instead of "miss"---grrrrrr...

The only time I got really annoyed about being carded was when I had forgotten my ID and they ddidn't serve me alcohol but the two underage guys at our table with borrowed ID were drinking beer. grrr. We went to a different bar.
