At the risk of sounding commercial,I'm going to step out on a limb. I think, there are those of us who feel that there is too little folk music available over the radio. I want to hear more folk but sadly know of few programs, other than a commercial sounding format, in my area which offer folk. So, I am pleasantly pleased to tell you that if you live outside of NYC and can't dial in directly with your radio and would like to try a good tradional folk show, listen in to the following on Sundays 3-6pm EST. The show is called TRADITIONS and has been on for 20yrs. You can do it via www.warpradio.com selecting WFDU call letters 89.1FM in Teaneck, NJ. Windows Media Player is a free download at the site, if you don't already have it. I'm all for using the new resources to spread this wonderful traditional music. Hey, I've heard some of you for the first time listening to this particular program. Hope you'll give it a listen this Sunday.

No comment? Not like this group. Please try this. I feel like a one man band of support.

Sounds like some good contemporary music, bflat. I think I must have missed the traditional show/part of the show.

Jeri, truth is today I'm sure they are playing music of the folks or recording companies that have given premiums. They really do play a lot of Traditional. Hang in there with it.

bflat, this is a good site. I heard some of the tribute to Bill Monroe there. I think I found it through 365live.com which lists alot of live broadcasts. Unfortunately the Norman Blake show at the redlight cafe in Atlanta was immpossible to find. Keep the faith, there is great music out there. Steve

bflat, I noticed the fund drive going on and figured it out. Even so, Ian Tyson singing Over the Rainbow ain't half bad. And Steve Gillette's on now.

Alright Jeri, they really often play Seeger, Ochs, Paxton Gilbert, Leadbelly, Cotton, Blind Willie, I could go on and on. I set aside the time just for this show.
