Hi Murray, is this what you're looking for?

YOUNG AT HEART
Artist: Frank Sinatra/Perry Como
Words by Carolyn Leigh and Music by Johnny Richards

Fairy tales can come true
It can happen to you if you're young at heart (young at heart)
For it's hard, you will find
To be narrow of mind if you're young at heart (young at heart)

You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on the way

Don't you know that it's worth
Every treasure on earth to be young at heart (young at heart)
For as rich as you are
It's much better by far to be young at heart (young at heart)

And if you should survive to a hundred and five
Look at all you'll derive out of bein' alive
And here is the best part, you have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

[brief instrumental interlude]

(Don't you know that it's worth)
(Every treasure on earth to be young at heart)
(For as rich as you are)
(It's much better by far to be young at heart)

And if you should survive to a hundred and five
Look at all you'll derive out of bein' alive
And here is the best part, you have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

Funniest rendition was by Dean Martin on his TV show...The "Rat Pack" was always ribbing each other and the relationship between Sinatra and Martin was very different than with the rest of the Pack. Anyhow, Dino sang a short parody of this that began:

Fairy tales may come true,
It could happen to you,
If your heart don't start.

Wish I could remember the rest!!

Spaw

One of my favourite songs. It just about say's it all.

You could maybe understand why, in my dotage, I like it so much but I remember loving it and singing it on my way to school, all those many years ago.

Metchosin et al -- cheers, that seems to be what we're after. I knew I could depend on the Mudcat fraternity (or sorority, or whatever).

Thanks to you Murray, it was the least I could do, for saving my grandmother's song for posterity. My Mom is thrilled.
