Versions as far back as the 17th century are given under the general title "In Good Old Colony Times" in the Scarce Songs 1 file on my website.

I learned this twenty five years or more ago with "Three jolly rogues of Lynn" in place of "because they could not sing..." with a final verse:

Oh the miller still lies in his dam,
And the weaver still hangs from his yarn
And the little tailor goes skipping through hell,
WIth the broadcloth under his arm... (etc)

I have somewhat different words, taken from the
Richard Dyer-Bennett recording:

In the good old colony days,
When we lived under the king,
Lived a miller and a weaver and a little tailor,
Three jolly rogues of Lynn.

Chorus pattern:
Last line of verse twice
Repeat last two lines of verse

Now the miller, he stole flour,
And the weaver, he stole yarn,
And the little tailor, he stole broadcloth,
For to keep those three rogues warm.

Chorus

Now the miller was drowned in his dam,
And the weaver was hanged in his yarn,
And the devile got his paw on the little tailor,
With his broadcloth under his arm!

Chorus

In good old colony days, when we lived under the king
Three jolly chaps fell into mishaps because they could not sing
Because they could not sing, because they could not sing
Three jolly chaps fell into mishaps because they could not sing.

Oh,the first he was a miller, and the second he was a weaver,
And the third he was a tailor, three jolly rouges together etc.

Oh the miller he stole corn, and the weaver he stole yarn,
And the little tailor ran far away with the broadcloth under his arm,etc

The miller got drowned in his dam, the weaver got hung in his yarn,
and the devil put his mark on the little tailor,
With the broadcloth under his arm, etc.

I'll work on the abc this afternoon. Never done one before so am not sure it will be right.
