Subject: Come to our Estrella Bardic From: GUEST,Sionnach Date: 13 Feb 00 - 10:55 AM I'm new to the Mudcat, but have enjoyed accessing the database and reading the messages. So I send out this invitation: If any of you are SCA'ers, and will be attending Estrella next week, come to our bardic on Saturday night! Look for the encampment of the Barony of Starkhafn (Kingdom of Caid). The bardic will begin after dinner on Saturday night. Last year we had about 100 people, with minstrels, bards, and storytellers from all over the world. A note about content: SCA period is not required -- most of us are heavy into Irish trad -- but we do try and avoid anything too blatantly modern. Although, I must say that one of the best songs of the evening was an SCA parody of "Ghost Riders in the Sky". If you are able to attend, please come find me and introduce yourself. Hope to see some of you there. Sionnach Baroness Starkhafn |

Subject: RE: Come to our Estrella Bardic From: GUEST,Sionnach Date: 14 Feb 00 - 10:07 AM The event is actually at the Schnefp Farms Festival Site, 1200 East Combs Road, Queen Creek, AZ. (It used to be held in the Estrella Mountains, but got too big for the site -- so we moved the event and kept the name.) That's south of Phoenix. The Estrella War is one of the largest SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) events in the Knowne World -- last year, we had about 7000 participants for the six-day event. The War begins Wednesday, Feb 16 and ends Monday, Feb 21. For all the details, check out the website at www.estrellawar.org. Sionnach |
