Some musician friends of mine would like to perform "May The Good Lord Bless And Keep You". Several hours after they asked about it, enough of the song came back that I was able to remember that it had been recorded by Jim Reeves. Then I discovered by checking my Bear Family CDs that it was written by Meredith Willson of Music Man fame.

Dogpile multisearch for both title and Wilson turned up nothing that looked pertinent to me. I would like to have as much information as possible, because these girls like to know the background of the music as well as the words. I know that they will be extremely grateful if anyone can help them with printed sources, composition dates, etc.

Thank you.

Another golden oldie classic.

MAY THE GOOD LORD BLESS AND KEEP YOU ('TIL WE MEET AGAIN)
Recorded by Jim Reeves - Words and music by Meredith Willson

May the good Lord bless and keep you, whether near or far away.
May you find that long awaited golden day, today.
May your troubles all be small ones, and your fortune ten times ten.
May the good Lord bless and keep you 'til we meet again.

CHORUS: (May you walk with sunlight shining) and a bluebird in ev'ry tree.
(May there be a silver lining) back of ev'ry cloud you see.
Fill your dreams with sweet tomorrow; never mind what might have been.
May the good Lord bless and keep you 'til we meet again.

REPEAT REFRAIN AND ADD:
May the good Lord bless and keep you 'til we meet ('til we meet)
'Til we meet ('til we meet) again.
