I'm not a guitar player, but I have 3 versoins w/chords:
A minor(Aeolian)Am,G,Am,Am,G,Am,G,Am
A Dorian Am,G,Em,Am//(Bpart)G,Am,Am,G,Em,Am
G Major(but it ends on A)C,G,C,G,D,//(B part) D,G,D,C,G,D. Does that help any?

I would expect Em, D, Em, Em, D, Em -- relative to the G scale the banjo's playing in. If not then it would be the same chords capoed up to Gm, F..etc. 'S what I would try.
