Subject: One More Town ?

Lately, a song that I learned at summer camp probably about six or seven years ago has been floating around my head. I don't know anything about it besides sections of the lyrics which may have been modified by my internal folk process, so any information on this song (who wrote it? where can I find a copy? would really be appreciated. Here's what I remember of it:

the chorus ran One more town, and I'll be going Fight for the living and I'll be there If there's one more song that I'll be singing, I'm always going but I don't know where. (keep on moving, moving on ..)

Went up to New York City ..something... something ... There were bright city lights and girls in pink tights But their faces were all painted on.

Went down to New Orleans last summer On a flatboat, poling my way. There were Southern ladies and streets that were shady Only held one thing for me (?)

I think there was one more verse dealing with where the narrator was born and raised...

Thanks for any help! Chocolate Pi

Hi, Chocolate - It's "One More Town," written and recorded by John Stewart, with and without the Kingston Trio. I don't have time to transcribe it now, but I'll post it tomorrow if somebody doesn't beat me to it. Watch this space.
Anybody know of a Kingston Trio lyrics site that might have this one typed up already?

Thank you all very much! I've been humming the song with "..something..something..." for large chunks of the lyrics for weeks now, and it's a great pleasure to me to be able to sing it all finally. And my roommate is happy that I'll start singing something else now.
