Who has not been witness to the struggle of a novice, battling with nerves, taking the first steps upon the road of the performer. Mouth so dry it cannot swallow, tongue so scared, it hardly sings. It's luck, as much as talent, could let you make it, so don't you be, a precious thing.

Good advice. By the way, if you want line breaks to show up in your posts, you have to put angle brackets at the end of each line, with the letter "br" (no quotes) between them.

It will makes the lines break properly.

See the HTML thread for all kinds of instructions on how to format posts.

PRECIOUS String Cheese ain't so bad,
Once you know that you've been had,
In Houston or Philadelphia,
It's really strange Mozzarellia.

Just trying this
thing. Did it break this sentence? This has come up in other threads, also. Thanx, AMOS. As far as playing in public, I'm always nervous. I usually relax further into the night, especially if I can just jam and not have to sing too much. I don't play a whole lot in public. I like to say that I'm first a musician, but I became a nurse because I can't support my family on an average of fifty dollars a year.

(Off the subject), I tend to binge. I don't have time to peruse the Mudcat daily, so today I've posted to three or four different threads. I'm not trying to monopolize, I'm sure you understand. But I must give HIGH PRAISE to a site which has not only answered my questions, but allows me to ramble on everything from cat farts, to public playing, to my lack of understanding the French language. Thank you all, (Guests included).

Spider Tom, to get line breaks, use angle brackets <> with the letters "br", without the quotation marks, in between the brackets, at the end of any line you want a break in.

Thanks, katlaughing.
I think I get your angle now
Shows why I wouldn't want to be too precious
Wearing my heart in my mouth, and all.
