Sunday Feb. 20 at 7:30 pm EST in the newest Mudcat Hearme room (see Jon's site) Newest Mudcat Hearme Once you link to this site click on the Join Chat box. See the discussion in the "Regular Hearme time, When ?" thread. The topic: Spring at last, Spring at last, or Has Spring, Sprung?, or Whose right, Max or the Woodchuck? See ya there... Here is an idea... Would anyone be willing to teach banjo, guitar, autoharp, or voice lessons over the internet using Hearme or some equivalent (PowWow, Firetalk, Excite Voice, even Net Meeting). Some of these programs even support on-line camera's for video links. We could even auction off lessons to help support the Mudcat. I got to thinking that I know that I'm somewhat musically challenged (tone deaf and got no rhythm, can't spell either). I would love to get pointers, suggestions, etc. on how to improve my playing and singing. I can take constructive critcism (I think), otherwise How Will I get Better? That got me to thinking about the possibilities of using Hear me for other types of things.... Like Lessons. Imagine, getting an hour lesson from some of the greats that we do have haunting Mudcat like Rick Fielding, Art Thieme, Kendal, and many many others. We could even learn a little Gaelic What do you think? JAB |

Text chat is possible and you can still listen and talk that way but as you have done, you really need the mike to get the best of it. Unfortunately, hearme only supports PC's running Windows at the moment an also requires Internet Explorer 4 or higher to be installed (doesn't have to be the browser you use though). Assuuming you have that, a short download is required when you first try to join. Jon |

Should it be good weather, bad weather, unusual weather, under the weather:-). I'll post a message tomorrow on the topic and time so people can plan ahead. In the mean time if anyone wants to change the time to accomodate others or has other suggestions. Let's hear them. I would like to start rotating the "host" simply because there will be weeks that I will be out of town, or otherwise busy. If we have a system for sharing/passing the hosting then I think it will more likely that the sings become self-sustaining. That's the only reason I'm suggesting sharing the responsibility.
