I'm sure glad it wasn't that song by the newbeats-that was a TERRIBLE song, sung in an awful falsetto. I have plenty of good musical memories from the 60's, but that wasn't one of 'em!

Thanks for your help, Gary. No, it's not the song by the Newbeats. It's definitely the Irish Rovers one. Thanks for the LP location, Sorcha. So now it's just a matter of getting a copy of that LP unless someone else has the lyrics or a location where they're listed.

Found the album for sale, here,, I would "assume" it has the words, if that helps. It's about half way down the page. Click Edit, then Find on this page "butter"

I probably cannot help, UNLESS it's the song I know as "Bread and Butter", recorded by the Newbeats, and a rock 'n' roll chart hit in the early 60's. Starts off: "I like bread and butter, I like toast and jam, that's what baby feeds me...". If that's the one, let me know, I can get the rest of the words.
