Subject: Song of the Shield Wall From: hrafn Date: 22 Feb 00 - 10:58 PM Hi folk, Does anyone have (and I know this is a long shot) the lyrics to Song of the Shield Wall (four hundred years of Saxon history). I do have it in my song collection, but that is in Cornwall and I live in Ireland. I would very much appreciate it if someone could give the lyrics, and possibly those to "Voyage to Vinland" as well. Thanks in advance, Hrafn (Fiach Dubh) |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Song of the Shield Wall From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 25 Feb 00 - 01:44 PM I got it by consulting Webferret, which is a very handy macro search engine, and free.
Once you've installed it, just type in Song of the Shield Wall, and it'll give all kinds of weird stuff - including several sites where it crops up, including some where it gets sung on a Real Audio file.
If you're interested in ballads about Saxons, try The Ballad of the White Horse by G.K.Chesterton.
