Hi.
Advertising is soooo much better when someone else is doing it. Dick, do you think the good folks at Camsco could find me a copy of "Kings of the Ragtime Banjo", on Yazoo records? I was speaking to Tony Trischka, who reccomended it highly for the playing of pioneer banjoists Fred Van Epps and Vess Ossman. Is Yazoo defunct? A shame if they are.

Thanks

Rick

I hope it's in stock-- if not, I think i have a copy dubbed to tape. Fidelity won't be as good, but all the notes are there.

Pete, you're a lifesaver. If Dick can get it I'll be happy to have the CD, but just HEARING it would be great, so maybe I'll take you up on your kind offer. Thanks.

Dick?

Rick!

Rick: Yazoo is now part of Shanachie, and is going great guns! Releasing superb CDs of early 20s and 30s stuff that has given me much pleasure, and would be wonderful for your radio show! "Times Ain't Like The Used to Be" (four volumes!) will restore your faith in record companies!

Call us, and Caroline will give you the address to ask for play copies for your show. "How Can I Keep from Singing" (two volumes) has gospel stuff that could restore your faith in even MORE than just record companies. Great singing!! "Hard Times Come Again No More" (two volumes), "My Rough and Rowdy Ways" (also two volumes) and the superb set of "Music of Kentucky" the first volume of which contains well-restored examples of four of Alfred Karnes' recordings. Lord, Rick, if you haven't heard these great CDs, I can't tell you what a thrill you're going to have when you do. Of course Dick can get 'em for any of you Mudcatters who don't qualify for radio play copies from Yazoo.

Sandy (

Hi Rick- Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but my phone line was acting up. The Yazoo Record you asked about hasn't been released on CD(as yet?). Sorry. If you're interested in anything else, please let me know--I can get it within a week or so if I don't stock it.

Looks like I'm IT. I'm going to be away for the next five days but long about next Monday or Tuesday I will find the tape (I hope) dub a copy and mail it to. . . where? Rick if you send me a Mudcat Message privately I'll know where it's to be sent.
