From memory (Willie Nelson's version on one of his recent albums), so there may be more:
Won't you ride in my little red wagon?
I'd love to pull you down the street --
I'll bet all the kids will be jealous,
When they see my playmate so sweet.

Hold 'tight till we come to the top of the hill,
Then we'll coast down, just you and me;
Won't you ride in my little red wagon,
for you are my sweetheart to be?
yours, Peter T.

I can't remember the first two lines of the second verse. Neither version may be correct!!! yours, Peter T.

Struck out on this one, Jeepman. None of my sourcebooks, fake books, or music libraries has a copy of the music. It was by Rey Griffin, that is all I can find.
yours, Peter T.

I would love to pull you up the street,
Hold on tight when we come to the hilltop,
Then we'll coast down the hill you and me,

I do this one often...fun chords....learned it from Roy Hall and also from The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers....think either the Bailes or Baileys also did it....need more?...mail me

Sorry. I don't know how to spread the chords out to the words where you really change. For example B7 goes over the word RIDE and the E over WAG in wagon. The A goes over the word love and the D7 goes over the STR in street. The G7 goes over HILL in hilltop, the C over ROLL and A7 over the word ME with the D7 a measure after. I hope you can figure it out.

Sorry for the multiple postings. For the guitar players it makes a great swing tune and you can substitute 6 and 9 chords and stuff. Have fun.
Fortunato

Thanks, Joe. That's the ticket.

I forgot to say someone in the band should go: Wheeee!

            C A7 D7
after "roll down the hill, you and me".

Kind Regards, Fortunato

The only parphrased couplet that I know of this song was of a version sung by a friends mother many years ago. She would start out with:

'You cain't ride in my little red wagon
The axle's broke and the rear end's draggin...

as with many other things in my past, I wish I had paid more attention!

I'm sorry. There's no B7. Take that out and move the chords back one, puting a resolving G at the end of the line. My memory was faulty.
G..E7..A7..D7..G;
I'm going to go hide in embarassment now. I should get over it in a month or two.

MY LITTLE RED WAGON
Written by Rex Griffin

Won't you ride in my little red wagon
I'd love to pull you down the street
I'll bet all the kids will be jealous
When they see my playmate so sweet

Hold tight till we come to the hilltop
Then we'll coast down the hill, you and me
Won't you ride in my little red wagon
For you are my sweetheart to be
