From: SeanM Date: 07 Mar 00 - 04:51 PM Well, as one of the resident attempted whistlers around here, I'd suggest following the threads here or here for starters. There are several links throughout each thread, along with a lot of good information. Hope this helps... M |

Subject: RE: Help: So, now I have bought my self a...... From: Barbara Date: 07 Mar 00 - 04:53 PM Put the pads of your fingers over the holes (make sure they seal) and blow fairly gently. Then raise the fingers one at a time starting at the bottom (furthest away) to play the scale. when you get to the top, cover all the holes again and blow harder. That should get you the second octave. Then all you have to do is learn some tunes. Blessings, Barbara |

From: GUEST,Roger the skiffler Date: 29 Mar 00 - 09:37 AM OK, I've resisted it long enough, (from the Wit and Wisdom of St Lonnie of Donegan):"If a tin whistle is made out of tin, what do they make fog horns out of." Subject: RE: Help: So, now I have bought my self a...... From: alison Date: 29 Mar 00 - 09:53 AM Here is a link to a whistle tutor it is there you just have to look harder than you used to. and here is chiff and fipple for info on types of whistles etc..... if you can already play / read music.. it is realtively easy to play the whistle, otherwise get yourself one of those book/tape combinations you find in music shops and take it from there. Or check out the whistle tutor link, it was a good online tutor. slainte alison
