Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Runnin' Moonshine (Ron Wiggins) From: Jim Dixon Date: 18 Jan 12 - 01:35 PM IMDb.com says that RUNNIN' MOONSHINE was the theme song to the 1977 movie "Bad Georgia Road," starring Gary Lockwood, Carol Lynley and Royal Dano. It's the only song listed in the soundtrack. It says the song was written and performed by Ron Wiggins. I haven't found any evidence that it ever appeared on an album. |

Subject: Lyr Add: RUNNIN' MOONSHINE (from Carolina Still) From: Jim Dixon Date: 15 Mar 13 - 08:42 AM I doubt that this is the same song that Ron Wiggins wrote. I searched for a songwriter credit at Carolina Still's web site, CDBaby, allmusic.com, and myspace.com, and didn't find one. I suspect someone in the band wrote it. I transcribed this from the recording at Spotify: RUNNIN' MOONSHINE As sung by Carolina Still on "Distiller" (2011) 1. Packed the trunk in my old thirty-nine. By the time the moon is up I'll be across the county line, Runnin' 'shine. I can outrun any old black-and-white, Take the back roads and make that flat-head engine whine, Runnin' 'shine. CHORUS: Hundred fifty mile an hour down the road, Hundred fifty dollars ev'ry single load, Yeah, the revenue man's on my trail but he is just too slow. 2. Mornin' comes, I'm pullin' coal out of the mine, Fourteen dollars for a week down in that ground, But I got to feed my family and so tonight, I'm runnin' 'shine. I know I can't get caught for I will go to jail. My friends and family they can't afford my bail, Otherwise it's ev'ry day a livin' hell. CHORUS |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Runnin' Moonshine (Ron Wiggins) From: GUEST Date: 15 Mar 13 - 12:39 PM The song that you pulled up isn't the same lyrics as the one Ron Wiggins wrote for the movie in 1977 Bad Georgia Road |
