Subject: RE: Lyric Quote for the Day--Mar 10 From: Amos Date: 10 Mar 00 - 10:33 AM Right, this is an old traditional Elizabethan love-song which migrated to Appalachian coal-mining towns in the late 1600s on Dutch trading ships who founded the triangle trade. The wanting to scream part is from the triangle trade, tangent segment B, The fingerprint part was added later by an Irish immigrant who learned about them on the New York police department in 1895. My grandfather use to sing me to sleep with it. |
