I know I am asking this kind of late in the day, but I have friends in from out of town and I would like to take them to hear some great music tonight.
Any suggestion where we should go?

Little Neo

According to NOW at my desk: The Royal Conservatory Orchestra is playing Elgar, Bartok and Richard Strauss at the Glen Gould studio (at the CBC HQ) $12-$15 tel. 2055555

The Flying Cloud on Brunswick south of Bloor has Owen McBridge & Enoch Kent

at Spadina and College:
Free Times has Jonathan Lyne;
Oasis has Vezi & Julie Sparks
Silver Dollar - Jake and the Blue Midnights

Top of the Senator has jazz - Jerry Bergonzi Quartet I know nothing about any of these people except Elgar, Bartok, and Richard Strauss.
yours, Peter T.

Actually, that's wrong, Jake and the Blue Midnights are at the Reservoir Lounge, 52 Wellington St. East (10pm tonight) -- That's swing and jumpblues. yours, Peter

I thought people would want to hear Irish music tonight
My parents play in a traditional Irish band and I think they are playing in Port Colborne, Ontario at the Winchester Arms. It's a little out of the way but I believe the Winchester Arms (which is a franchise) has a webpage that is complete with maps.
The band is called Barley Brae and they have a webpage at http://www.vaxxine.com/barleybrae
Sorry I can't suggest something closer to Toronto...but this pub is quite nice.
Matthew Adams
