Does anyone know anything about this song? I have the lyrics here but I don't know the air or how old it is. Any help much appreciated.

Mick, I have seen a reference to a 6/8 tune known as Lord Louth written by Carolan (o'Carolan?) but other than that I can't help too much. I had a quick play with your lyrics but they don't look like 6/8 type meter. Someone else may have very different ideas, in which case maybe Lesley from the Contemplator site may know of Lord Louth. My knowledge is restricted to the better known tunes. (It's late so I'll paraphrase - if you're desperate you could chase up the Lord Louth tune in 6/8, but I reckon that it's a long shot that your lyrics have been designed around that particular music).

For the sake of argument I'd bet 10 guineas that the tune you're chasing is a waltz. Regards, John
