Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Help: Mockingbird From: Joe Offer Date: 22 Mar 00 - 07:12 PM There are other versions of the song here (click). Guiltily, I will also provide a link to the James Taylor and Carly Simon Version (click). -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Help: Mockingbird From: GUEST,Jim Dixon Date: 22 Mar 00 - 06:59 PM That song is in DigiTrad under the name "HUSH, L'IL BABY" (click). You might find some OLDER versions, but you won't find the ORIGINAL version -- or if you do and you can prove it, you'd win the Nobel prize in ethnomusicology (if there were such a thing). |
Subject: Help: Mockingbird From: GUEST,Roxanne Date: 21 Mar 00 - 08:51 PM This is a great site for teachers. Real living language with feeling and rhythm. I'm looking for one of the orginal versions of "Daddy's gonna buy me a mockingbird, And if that mockingbird don't sing..." I have the "jazzed up" version by JUBA, a Canadian group, but I would like my Korean students to hear the original version. My colleague and I are planning to have our students write their own versions. Many thanks, |
