Subject: RE: Corries songbook From: Abby Sale Date: 22 Mar 00 - 11:49 AM The only song which appears in the original songbook is Flower of Scotland. I wonder if that's a mistake. The original (unless there's another one) is a slim slick paper book with only 16 songs. There's no date on it but Roy gave me a copy about 1972 (It likely cost him 6p.) Some good songs in it & in fact, I just sang "Banks of Newfoundland" to mark St. Pat's Day. |
Subject: RE: Corries songbook From: DonMeixner Date: 22 Mar 00 - 10:10 PM Abby, This will be a third book. The first one s the slick one you mentioned. The second one is very recent , 12 years ago maybe with about 40 songs maybe. Very good song book and this new one from Ronnie and Gavin. I'm on the mailing list for the Corries and about a year back Gavin asked listers to tell him what un published songs we'd lke in the new book. Thats were many of these choices are from. Don |
Subject: RE: Corries songbook From: Wavestar Date: 23 Mar 00 - 12:56 PM I think the point was that the only song that appears in both is Flower of Scotland. Hmmm... I sense a late Christmas gift for my Scottish Corries fan friend... This is advance warning? *ponder* Eeeexxxceleent. -J |
