I'm new here, and I know that there is a listing for this song in the directory, but the lyrics aren't there, so I was wondering if anyone knows why this is like that. It would also be greatly appreciated if someone had a tune or chords for this song.

I've found this forum to be exceedingly helpful, since my friends and I are getting a group together to play traditional folk music. It's nice to find 3 or 4 versions of a song's lyrics, because then we can arrange and edit them into something that's easy to sing/play.

In any case, thanx!

Peace- Kelida!

Thanx for your help. My friends and I are trying to expand our repetoire of songs, and we heard this song somewhere and fell in love with it.

Still, if anyone has a tune or chords for it, we would be greatly indebted to you.

The music (no chords) is here, at Dick Gaughan's page. There's a MIDI of the tune at the bottom of the lyrics at the above link.

Just to clarify, the MIDI is in the DT lyrics, not at Dick Gaughan's page. Or click here.

The tune is "The Key of the Cellar", or Bobbing Joan". See Scarce Songs 1 on my website for "Bobbing Joan" and an ABC of its tune. www.erols.com/olsonw

Steeleye did a nice version of it, can be found on a tape called (surprise surprise) Best of Steeleye Span. Very raunchy, very throaty and I still can't get the hang of it!!
