I heard this song in the movie, "Sounder" and have sung it ever since. But the movie version had few lyrics:

Is this all there is to it?

Version I know says "Now is the needing [needed?] time". (on Jean Redpath/Lisa Neustadt tape -- Angels Hovering Round")

The lyrics are printed in Spanish for those of that tongue whom the film was adapted. Look on You Tube. The plaintive song is very appropriate for the film, Sounder.

In "Sounder" the version at the beginning of the film is by Lightnin Hopkins - I remember seeing the film when it came out and Needed Time made a deep impression on me then. I've still got the soundtrack album on vinyl.
