I would love to purchase the poster of "The Banjo Lesson" by Henry O. Tanner 1893
I know it is at the Hampton University Museum
I tried to order it from various poster catalogue books, but it does not seem to be listed where I have looked.
Does anyone know if posters are available and where I could order a copy?

I would greatly appreciate any help,
Bonnie

That is a wonderful painting! My neighbors have a print hanging in their living room. I've seen it in a frame shop, here in Brooklyn, too. I've been tempted to buy one for myself.

You might make inquiries at the museum that owns the original. Museums usually sell prints of their most popular paintings. If you want me to, I can price it at my local frame shop. You could send me a money order, in US $$, and I could buy it for you and give it to Rick, when I see him, at Annap's, on April 7. I'll check with the frame shop, at lunch time and post again, this afternoon. You should also send me a private email.

O.K. Here's the scoop:

The print is in stock. It costs $25.00 U.S., plus $3.00, for the mailing tube, plus 8.25% sales tax.

$25.00 $ 3.00 ------ $28.00 X .0825 ------- $ 2.31 ------ $30.31 TOTAL

Thank Easy Rider. That was very kind of you to find out for me.
Is it possible to get the area code, phone number and name of the store? I will give them a call and order it over the phone.
Did you check your personal messages?
I left you one since I could not find your email address on BBC's resources.
Many thanks for taking the time to do all this.

Bonnie

Neo, Try The Allen Gallery, 331 Queen St. E, Toronto (btwn Sherbourne & Parliament, closer to Parliament, south side). The cheapest, most artistic framing in the city and Alan's or his staff can track down any poster, and price it in $Canadian for you. I knew him years ago through business stuff. Still go all the way down there for things art & special poster-ish, or at least include him in my city trips now and then for a hello.

Thanks for the suggestion Crowhugger, but as Easy Rider has mentioned, he kindly took the time today to get the poster for me.
That is the amazing thing about the Mudcat. You can find the kindest, most generous people around here.
Anyway, it will look just gorgious on my living room wall.
