Subject: Good Ship Raggamuffin From: GUEST,Degsy Date: 31 Mar 00 - 08:38 AM I am trying to find the words for this song. The chorus I think goes like this: Farewell to your bricks and mortar, farewell to your dirty lies, Farewell to your ganger men and your gang-bangs and to hell with your over-time, For the good ship Raggamuffin is lying in the quay, To take ould Pat with his shovel on his back to the shores of Botany Bay. Anyone? I've run a hlf dozen searches to no avail. |

Subject: Lyr Add: BOTANY BAY (Clancy and Makem) From: SDShad Date: 31 Mar 00 - 10:18 AM I've heard this as "Botany Bay," sung by Clancy and Makem. I found this version of the lyric, which I've modified to more closely resemble [my memory of] the Clancy/Makem version, in just a few places. I've found several verions of it on the web, actually, none of them exactly like the one I've heard. Chorus:
Farewell to your bricks and mortar, farewell to your dirty lime
I'm on my way down to the quay, where the ship at anchor lay (Chorus)
The boss came up this morning, and he says to me "Hello, (Chorus)
And when I reach Australia I'll go and dig for gold (Chorus)
