The song was written by Liz Anderson and performed first by Merle Haggard. I think it should be listed in COWPIE. If that gets you no response, I will write the lyricsout for you. Frank.......

I apologize if it's just because I'm having computer or mental troubles today that I haven't been able to find this lyric elsewhere, but does anyone out there know this song and/or where it came from? I remember the melody from an old Roy Buchanan cover, but I don't remember more than "I'd like to settle down but they won't let me..." which I think was from the chorus. I suspect it's originally a "country" song.
