Well, Kendall, I know it's a Ray Stevens (click) song. I'll e-mail our Ray Stevens expert (Gene) and see if he has it.

He probably used that system invented by Alexander the Great that used an hour glass to mark the hours and a rag with 12 knots in it tied around his wrist. Everytime the hourglass got turned over you would rotate the rag by one knot, so you could keep track of the hours. It was popularly known as Alexander's rag time band.

Unfortunately I can't claim to have invented it. It came from a Canadian scientist during his seminar on micowave spectroscopy of symmetric top molecules about 35 years ago.

Sorry, Kendall — I have it at home, but I'm not there and won't be back here for a couple of weeks. I'll put a trace on this thread and if you haven't got it by the time I get back I'lll copy the words and post them for you.

WOULD JESUS WEAR A ROLEX?
Written by Margaret Archer & Chet Atkins
As sung by Ray Stevens on "Crackin' Up"

Woke up this mornin', turned on my TV set.
There in living color was somethin' I can't forget.
This man was preachin' at me, yeah, layin' on the charm,
Askin' me for twenty with ten thousand on his arm.

He wore designer clothing and a big smile on his face,
Sellin' me salvation while they sang Amazing Grace.
Askin' me for money, he had all the signs of wealth.
I almost wrote a check out, yeah, but then I asked myself:

CHORUS: Would He wear a pinky ring? Would He drive a fancy car?
Would His wife wear furs and diamonds? Would His dressin' room have a star?
If He came back tomorrow, there's somethin' I'd like to know:
(Can you tell me?) Would Jesus wear a Rolex on His television show?

Would Jesus be political if he came back to Earth,
Have his second home in Palm Springs, but try to hide his worth,
Take money from those poor folks when he comes back again,
And admit he's talked to all those preachers who say they've been a-talkin' to him?

Just ask yourself: CHORUS

Would anybody have the chords to " Would jesus wear a Rolex"
I know the songs in "G" there's a few chords missing here and there for me.
It's tough trying to break it down from his piano playing. A lot of fills with his left hand.
Thanks

Plastic Jesus riding on the Dashboard of my Car is also another good standby.
