dear guys:

going nuts trying to find the lyrics to this tune. all i have is a version by an old los angles based band and they sing it poorly but it's a great tune and my band wants to cover it. please help.

I know it well, marc. Another gem from the pen of Shane MacGowan. For this, and pretty much more Pogues lyrics than you can shake a stick at, go to the Discography section of In The Wake of the Medusa, one of the finest Pogues sites out there. Do yourself a favor and get your fingers on the original; it's on the Pogues' Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash, which is a marvelous album.

Say, there's already a few Pogues songs in the DigiTrad. From a thread like this one, how do we bring a set of lyrics we want Dick to add to his attention? Start another thread?

Thanks for the Pogues link, I have bookmarked it. I even had to vote while I was there cause the wrong album is winning! "Rum Sodomy and the Lash" RULES (to use an Mboism ;-))

I dunno Jon. I've been a "Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash" man for many a year (boy, don't quote that out of context), but "Fairytale of New York" and "Turkish Song of the Damned" are doing, well, their damndest, to lure me into the "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" camp.

Frankly, I can't decide to vote on their poll yet. *BG*
