Lyr Req/Add: Frisco Dan (Jones/Van Alstyne, 1912)

A search of many years has brought me to this site at last. My mother age 83, sang us a song that her grandmother from Nova Scotia sang. It is a sea shanty, must be very well over 100 years old. Have several verses and need to complete to sing to Mom on her 85th birthday. The words go:

Little Frisco Dan was a sailor man,
Sailing on the good ship Maryanne,
And the little whales and the piping gales
Winked at Dan and wagged their little tails.

Up in Frisco, pretty Lulu Brown
Hugged her Dan and wore a weary frown.
He said, "Lou, I'm sailing out of town.
I'm off to Honolulu, Lulu.
I'm off to Honolulu in a sailing ship.
I'm off to Honolulu on a sailing trip.
If you'll be true, my Lulu, to your Frisco Dan,
I'll be true to Lulu anytime I can."
As he sailed away, he was heard to say,
"Yes I'll be true to Lulu anytime I can."

Well, he isn't true and runs into girls with coats of tan, and Chinese maidens, all of whom send him on his way.
Please, oh please, can anyone help me?

"Frisco Dan" was recorded in 1913 by Billy Murray. Vintage Records includes it on their "Ragtime Era" Cassette according to this page It is also on the CD album " Graveyard Blues ". Catalog Number MATR 1005 CD by Bo Grumpus performing on the Stomp Off label. Contact:

My mother sang this song to us too. I can remember the Chinese girl, but not the coat of tan.

The little coat of tan was before the Chinese girl, but I can't remember it either.

So he put his trunk on her Chinee junk,
And told this Chink a lot of Yankee bunk.
"Hip-Sing-Yow, dear," Danny said in glee,
"You have made an awful hit with me.
On Broadway, you'd be in Operee."

And then our sailor boy replied:
