'Bout ye Mike.

Found nothing specific, but a search on Google.com gives a few different links. I thought that The Coleraine Times might have some information on it. Alas, no.

I have E-mailed editors in the past looking for information about one thing or another, and have found SOME of them helpful. I don't know how you'd fair with Morton Newspapers, but if all else fails drop him a bell.

I'm sure Mudcat member John Moulden can advise you, as he lives very near Coleraine. I believe this site has a link to John's "Ulstersongs" pages.

I lived just outside Coleraine for a while, and didn't find anything..... I think there was a newspaper called "the Coleraine Advertiser", (could be wrong though).... there might be things happening now coming into the summer but during winter there never was much.

If you are prepared to travel a bit there were sessions in Ballycastle, and I'm sure there would be some in Derry...

Yeah, I feel dense. I thought that you meant the TUNE...which we've been known to play for 10 to 20 minutes at a crack. It IS rather hypnotic

Hi Mike Would you be the banjo playing Mike Sweeny who used to go to Matties on Sat afternoons and raise the standard of the music?

Alan

I was at a conference in Limavady a couple of weeks ago. One of the local delegates, Kate McFaul, sang a few songs in the wee hours so she may well know. Her e-mail is kate_collage@compuserve.com
