Subject: hey cowboy From: Kara Date: 13 Apr 00 - 04:43 PM Hello. I just got myself a job playing some music in a cardboard cowboy Saloon for a two day festival in Brittany in June. Any of you good folk out there have any idea what sort of thing them boys might have been playing in a western saloon at about the turn of the century (18th 19th rather than 19th 20th) look forwards to hearing your suggestions. Subject: RE: Help: hey cowboy From: Jim Krause Date: 13 Apr 00 - 05:04 PM Child Ballads, espcially the lower numbered ones, anything by Robert Burns, Thomas Moore, some sea chanteys, but be careful here, some come from the 1840s and later. Stuff from the Beggar's Opera also comes to mind. Does that get you started? Good Luck, soddy |

Have fun! katlaughing |
