I usually get the audience to sing 'ting!' after each phrase...

What'll I do (ting!)
When you (ting!)
(etc.)

The Guitar Guy's got what looks like a nice version of the song: I find his site very useful. http://www.theguitarguy.com/

Hi Jeep man, Finally foudn the old waltz book. I had to transposeit from E-flat so I think I got it right. There are lots of chord changes and some different than usual chords.

I think you need to check out this site with lots of lovely old tunes. It's one of my favourite sites. It doesn't have chords but it has midi files and lyrics.

(C)Gone is the romance that (F) was so divine,
'Tis (C) broken and (G7) cannot be (C) mend (G)ed.
(C) You must go your way and (E) I must go (Am) mine, (A+)
(A6) But (E) now that (A) our(B7) love dreams have (E) end (Dm7) ed, (G7)

What'll I (C) do when (Fm) you are (C) far a(Fm)-way And (C) I am (G7) blue,
What'll I (C) do
What'll I do when (Fm) I am (C) wondering (Fm)who is (C) kissing (G7) you,
What'll I (C) do (G7)
(C7)What'll I (F) do with (Dm) just a (F) photo (Fm) graph To (C) tell my (A7) troubles (D7) to
When I'm a a (C)-lone with (F) only (C) dreams of (Fm) you That (C) won't come (G7) true

Somewhere in this mess I call home is a book of old waltzes and I have this one as well as your other request: The Band Played On. It has melody and chords. When I stumble on the book - it's silly because I know I saw it only a few days ago so it's probably hiding in plain sight - I will post the chords here.

Jeepman, this is how I play it, but I doubt it's really right. It works for me, but you'll probably want to solicit more authoritative help! I don't know how to do line breaks etc. so my system is as follows: I'll put the chord in parentheses just before the word where the chord changes.

(G)What'll I do when (Cm7)you are (G)far a- (Am7)way, and (G)I (Cm)am (Am)blue, (D)what'll I (G)do. (Second verse, same as the first). Bridge: What'll I (C)do with just a (Cm7)photograph to (G)tell (Cm7)my (E)troubles (A)to? (Third verse, same as the first).

Hope you can make sense of this! Margaret
